My name is Philip Henderson. I am a Canadian mathematician and computer scientist.
This website started as a hobby research project when I became frustrated with how many board games, books, movies, smartphone apps, tv shows and video games I was simply not enjoying. There were successes of course, but existing recommendation algorithms did not seem to work well for me.
The recommendation problem proved to be much harder than I thought it would be, but after a couple years of effort I have made real progress, to the point where my family now relies on the Wheat-Chaff recommender for all of our board game selections.
With further quality improvements, my goal is to provide the best recommendations possible for all tastes and all kinds of entertainment media.
Your free time is valuable, and I hope I can help you enjoy it more often.
